Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Herb Kossover has called Atlanta home since 1980. This award-winning Director/DP has over 27 years experience Producing,Directing and image consulting.
Herb has captured aerial images of many U.S. cities including Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York and Los Angeles. During the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, Herb was one of only 4 directors of photography hired for the Official Olympic Film directed by the legendary Bud Greenspan. His work was so well received that he was asked to lens the 1998 Winter Olympic Games for Greenspan in Japan.
A veteran of the entertainment industry, Herb’s credits include numerous music videos with artists such as Billy Joel, Cyndi Lauper, The SOS Band, TLC, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and the musical, CATS. He was also series Director for “First Flights” hosted by Neil Armstrong on the Arts and Entertainment Network, and lensed images for NBC's Emmy-winning series, "The West Wing," CBS's "CSI/NY" and Fox's, "Vanished". Herb's aerial images were used recently in Oprah Winfrey's "The Big Give". Herb served as Director of Animated Photography on the full-length feature film, “Delgo,” released Fall, 2008 on 2000 screens. Herb's work on CBS Production's pilot "Atlanta" was completed in December, 2008.
Herb serves on the Board of Directors for the American Intercontinental University and is a member of NAPTE, NATAS, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. His images are represented worldwide by Getty Images/The Image Bank, Inc. and Corbis Motion. Herb's aerials of Atlanta can be seen on every local Atlanta television station and is used to promote the City of Atlanta by The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
